The USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific Third Annual Forum 2014, organized in partnership with UNDP, will be held at Phokeethra Grand Ballroom of Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort. Travel Arrangements to Siem Reap
The organizers are making the flight arrangements for funded participants to the Forum. Please make sure that you have received your confirmed e-tickets on or before 8 September. The organizers will also be in contact with participants who will require extra travel arrangements.
Info for self-funded participants - Flights to Siem Reap
Siem Reap International Airport has direct flights coming from several countries. Among the most convenient connecting points for countries that don’t have direct flights to Siem Reap are: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, South Korea and China.
Visa to Cambodia
Cambodia offers e-visas, which can be processed in 3 days. This requires a passport validity of more than six months at the time of entry, a recent passport-size photo in digital format (JPEG or PNG format), and a valid credit card (Visa/MasterCard). Participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are required to process their visa in advance at the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Cambodia in their country or the nearest embassy in the region.
The cost of the visa is reimbursable upon submission of the receipt to the organizers.
Visa Exemption: Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam.
The organizers will arrange round-trip airport transfer for supported participants. Participants will be organized by groups based on their flight itineraries and a van can take up a maximum of 6 passengers. This service includes a hotel representative with signage referencing the event to meet the participant upon arrival.
Info for self-funded participants – Airport Transfer
Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Hotel offers a round-trip hotel transfer services to self-funded participants of the USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific Third Forum at US$30 per person.
USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific will provide its supported participants with limited accident and health insurance for the period of their travel for the workshop. However, the insurance policy does not cover pre-existing conditions or complications arising from them, and therefore USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific cannot assume financial liability or medical expenses that may be incurred for such treatment.
The organizers have blocked a single room accommodation at Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Hotel for each funded participants. Payment for the room accommodation from 14 to 17 September 2014 shall be covered by the Organizers and made directly to the hotel (extra days for some participants shall be pre-approved by the organizers). Except for the room cost, which includes daily breakfast, other extra expenses incurred shall be charged to the participant upon check-out.
Check-in time is 14:00 and check-out is 12:00 noon. Early check in is subject to room availability. The hotel will request for your credit/debit card as guarantee for other extra expenses you may incur during your stay.
You will receive your hotel booking confirmation on or before 8 September. Please contact the organizers (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you do not get this confirmation.
Info for self-funded participants – Accommodation
Self-funded participants of the USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific Third Annual Forum may take advantage of the discounted rate of US$140 at Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra.

Breakfast is included in the hotel rate and is served at The Citadel Restaurant. It is open from 6:00 am – 10:00 am.
The Forum will provide buffet lunch for all participants on 15 and 16 September, with coffee/tea and snacks during meeting breaks. Lunch will also be at The Citadel Restaurant
All participants are also invited to attend the Welcome Reception on Sunday, 14 September at 6:30 pm.
For funded participants, all other meals during the meeting shall be covered by the DSA to be provided by USAID Adapt Asia Pacific.
Daily Subsistence Allowance and Visa Fee Refund
All funded participants shall receive their Daily Subsistence Allowance based on USAID rules and policies. The DSA covers (1) meals that are not provided during the meeting, (2) the local transportation to and from airport (in origin city), and (3) other incidental travel costs.
The organizers will be sending each participant a schedule for claiming their DSA and for presenting other relevant costs for refund, including visa fees. Kindly prepare all the official receipts for the relevant transactions for refund.
Riel is the local currency in Cambodia. However, the US dollar is accepted in all transactions, even in local transportation services. Major credit cards are accepted in big establishments. There are ATMs in Siem Reap accepting both credit cards and regular debit cards. ATMs dispense US dollar notes.
Laptops and Internet Connection
Please bring your own laptop to the meeting. Wifi connection will be provided in the meeting venue. Sofitel also provides wifi connection in your room and other areas of the hotel.
