Building on the success of the ongoing "Economics of Climate Change Adaptation" training program, the USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific Project is partnering with the United Nations Development Program and others, including GiZ, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, Secretariat of the Pacific Community, Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme, and University of the South Pacific to provide vital economic analysis assistance to governments in the Pacific region.
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) announced the outcomes of the 21st Smaller Island States (SIS) Leaders Meeting, held in Raratonga, the Cook Islands, on 27 August 2012. The meeting took decisions on the SIS Development Fund, financing for climate change, tourism and trade.
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) has launched a new e-Newsletter on Climate Change Financing. The first issue of the e-Newsletter provides a description of the PIFS' mandate on climate change financing, and highlights several activities undertaken in this area.
